Jane Bennet (Sian Mayhall-Purvis, Mrs Bennet (James Walker-Black), and Elizabeth Bennet (SJ Brady)

After performances in 2012 and 2013, Pride & Prejudice: The Panto returned to The Cockpit for a two-week run in December 2015. The script was revised, incorporating new songs and up-to-date references, and six new performers joined the cast.

Pitched as a battle between ‘good fairy’ Jane Austen and her wicked antagonist Charles Dickens, the worlds of panto and classic literature collide. Mrs Bennet has five unmarried daughters – what is she to do? Suitors appear, chaos ensues, and shirts get very wet as Elizabeth Bennet and her sisters seek to marry not just for money, but for love.

A short volume of articles was produced alongside the production. You can buy the volume, Adaptable Women, for just £3. Just drop us an email at info@byjovetheatre.org.

8th-20th December, 7.30pm @ The Cockpit, Marylebone.
